Search marketing - a better term, let's keep it.

For those of us involved in search engine marketing, we get tired of the worn out overused term search engine optimization. It's become a fairly negative term and it doesn't explain completely what we do as professionals. When one uses the term SEO, they're making it sound like they create website for search engines consumption. Nothing shold be further from the truth. People that do honest search marketing make website for visitors, not search engines. Most of the major search properties are starting to look at the term more closely. They don't like what some dishonest people do to manipulate search results. They can make a non-relevant page look relevant. How sad. It's good for Google, Yahoo and MSN to keep relevance up by eliminating the bad SEO. That's why I prefer not to use it, although in some cases I have to use it because that's what some people who are looking for it are familiar with.
