It's a beautiful summer day in August and one hardly feels like writing about internet marketing online. It's going to be about 85 degrees here in Minnesota but it's not muggy today like it is a lot of the time over summer. Even though summers are short here, we pack them with many activities that seem to stretch it out. You have to because before you know it, winter will be knocking on the door. Don't get me wrong, I love the change of seasons as they are so pronounced in Minnesota. It all happens so fast but it keeps life interesting. It's that aspect of change that I would like to write about today. Has your sales campaign or internet marketing online grown a little stale over the past year? If it has, you may want to consider a positive change just like the change of seasons here in the north country.

There are many websites that after having some success refuse to change anything about their website for fear of losing rankings on the search engines. If that's how you think, then you're already losing. You see search engines want to see new, fresh content that should be an integral part of any strategy using internet marketing online. Search engines do rank according to a variety factors and new content is also one of those factors. Think about a website that you visited recently where you expected to see something new but there was nothing new. Can you recall the feeling of just the same old thing or why haven't they put up something new? Is everything okay with this company?

After surfing around for a while that some of the best websites always have some new content to offer. It's refreshing to know that whenever you go to those websites that there may be something fun, interesting or informative to see. It's new content that if updated properly, will also cause search engines to come back more often to add to it's index database. Now, I'm not talking about websites that splash ads everywhere or use syndicated content, I'm talking about original content that is generated by the website owner. This type of internet marketing online will make your site more appealing to potential customers, because the first visit isn't always when they purchase. They sometimes come back a couple of times to gather information before the final interaction with your website.

Whenever people have a choice, chances are they will select websites with updated content and the latest on the product or service that they're offering. I don't know what percentage of websites on the internet are static, that is they never change. That would be an interesting statistic. When search engines claim billions of pages indexed, what portion of those are totally irrelevant by never being updated? I'll bet the percentage is pretty high.

When doing internet marketing online, not only should content be original, it should be updated often. How often is up to you, that depends on how much new interest you want to develop from people looking for what you have to offer.
