If you look around the RealWebMarketing.com site, you'll notice that we keep several blogs that we hope will be helpful to people who visit us. We appreciate people's time and feel we need to add some accumulated wisdom on different aspects of search engine marketing. What I've found as I began the blogs wasn't that I had this duty to keep things up, which I do, it was to discover things about the web I never noticed before. When you look intently into a field of study, you can't help but find things that the casual interest will overlook. I enjoy blogging and giving news and opinions but I know that I'm getting more out of the blog experience than even the people who read it.
I don't blog like some of the today's teens do, where they tell you about their day at school or someone who wants to blog about telepathic communication with the family bird. People don't care about that. No, what I'm talking about is blogging that is an extension of the expertise you've acquired in life. That, I believe is
what most people are interested in anyway. They want some meat to the blog, like a story, an experience that illuminates some dark corner that wasn't seen before. In my humble opinion, that's how I think blogs work the best, an informative personal view of a subject.
The mere act of writing creatively makes you sharper and more sensitive to ideas that could be used to raise awareness of a subject. It stimulates the mind. Ways of thinking about a subject will be expanded to include detailed aspects because you're forced to create coherent thought for an audience.
It's easy to begin a blog, and there are many services out there to do that, but it's important to keep it updated very often or it will not attract new people and people won't come back. New people to your blog need to see that it's a fresh source of information, not a stale one-time observation. I love reading a good blog that has a healthy contribution on a regular basis. If it doesn't, it's no good and I move on.
For web marketing a blog can be a good idea for companies or
websites. It gives the reader a personal insight to your enterprise, which will create more stickiness to your website. In this world of impersonal workings, a blog can help humanize your offering which could turn into more customers.
