Another personalized search coming for AskJeeves.com
In another yet boring development, AskJeeves.com is going to be offering personalized search. I can't wait to actually see some of the first types of these as I will be using them to see what is happening with search results.
I think that the whole personalized search is becoming a worn out term already. It means nothing to anyone before it's even been seen by anyone. It's one of the strangest marketing ploys used by search engines. Usually when there is this much hype over something, it goes over like a lead baloon. Why? Because they are raising the expectations of the public too high so they are certainly set for disappointment. This is really a stupid way to bring what is supposed to be the next big thing to market. It reminds me of Java hype, XML hype and the rest. These never met up to expectations either and were not widely adopted.
